Terms of Service

Last updated: 31 July 2026

1. The service

Vowsey provides web analytics and session replay: a script you add to your own apps ("host apps") sends pageview events and screen recordings to Vowsey, where you and your team view them in a dashboard. By creating an account or sending data to Vowsey, you agree to these terms.

2. Beta status

Vowsey is in beta. The service is provided free of charge during this period, features may change, and occasional downtime or data loss can happen. When paid plans launch, continued use above the free tier's limits will require a subscription; you will be notified before anything starts costing money.

3. Your account

You are responsible for your account, the workspaces and projects under it, and everyone you grant access to. Keep your credentials safe. Write keys are public by design and are bounded by origin allowlists and rate limits; managing those settings for your projects is your responsibility.

4. Your users come first

You remain the owner of, and the party responsible for, the data your host apps collect. In particular, you must:

  • disclose to your users that analytics and session recording are in use, in a privacy notice or equivalent, and obtain any consent your jurisdiction requires;
  • keep input masking enabled (the default) unless you are certain the unmasked forms contain nothing sensitive;
  • not use Vowsey to record pages that handle passwords, payment card data, health records, or similarly sensitive information in visible page content;
  • honor your users' deletion requests, deleting a session in the dashboard removes its recording.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use Vowsey to track sites you don't own or operate, to collect data about people with the purpose of harming them, to circumvent the rate limits or origin checks of other customers' keys, or to probe or disrupt the service itself. We may suspend projects that do.

6. Data retention and deletion

Replay recordings are kept for your project's retention window (30 days by default) and then deleted automatically. Analytics events are kept for the life of the project. Deleting a project deletes its events, recordings, and keys; deleting your account deletes the workspaces you own. Backups age out on their own schedule shortly after.

7. Availability and liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vowsey is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits, or lost data arising from use of the service. Our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which during the beta is zero.

8. Termination

You can stop using Vowsey and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where practical. Sections 4, 7, and 9 survive termination.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced in the dashboard or by email at least 14 days before they take effect; continued use after that is acceptance.

10. Contact
